LANDOVER — The Washington Redskins will have three new starters along the offensive line Thursday when they take on the New York Giants.
Redskins left tackle Trent Williams was listed among the team’s inactives, released 90 minutes before kickoffs. Ty Nsekhe will start in Williams’ place.
Since Week 4, Williams has been dealing with a bone bruise and a torn ligament in his knee. The left tackle played Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, but the short turnaround made it a difficult proposition for Williams to play. This will be Williams’ third missed game of the season.
Besides Williams, the Redskins will also replace center Chase Roullier (fractured hand) and left guard Shawn Lauvao (stinger). Roullier had surgery Monday and was announced out on Wednesday. Lauvao, meanwhile, was placed on injured reserve Tuesday after re-aggravating his injury against the New Orleans Saints.
Arie Kouandjio will start at left guard, while Tony Bergstrom will start at center.
Along with Williams and Roullier, the following players are inactive for the Redskins:
Tight end Jordan Reed (hamstring)
Linebacker Martrell Spaight (foot)
Defensive lineman Caraun Reid
Defensive lineman Terrell McClain (toe)
Safety Montae Nicholson (concussion)
