ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - An Annapolis fire official says two people were hurt in a blaze that left nearly two dozen apartment units uninhabitable.
Annapolis Fire Department Battalion Chief John Ortlieb says crews were dispatched to the scene around 1 a.m. Friday and arrived to find heavy fire coming from the second floor of a three-story building. Dozens of firefighters responded and brought the fire under control in about 90 minutes.
Ortlieb said Friday afternoon that investigators haven’t yet determined the cause. He says 22 units were affected and all are uninhabitable.
One civilian and one firefighter sustained injuries that are not life-threatening. Ortlieb says the firefighter has since been treated and released. The other person’s condition wasn’t known.
The American Red Cross is assisting affected families.
