Ed Westwick, perhaps best known for his role as Chuck Bass on the former CW melodrama “Gossip Girl,” is denying an allegation of rape leveled by actress Kristina Cohen, People magazine reported Tuesday.

In a Facebook posting Monday, Miss Cohen said the assault occurred three years ago at Mr. Westwick’s home, which she and her boyfriend at the time, a producer she did not name, were visiting.

Miss Cohen describing waking up to Mr. Westwick fondling her, and said that after she told him to stop, he proceeded to hold her down and rape her. In the aftermath, her then-boyfriend, a friend of Mr. Westwick‘s, discouraged her from reporting the incident, she claimed.

“The producer put the blame on me, telling me I was an active participant,” Miss Cohen said. “Telling me that I can’t say anything because Ed will have people come after me, destroy me, and that I could forget about an acting career. Saying there’s no way I can go around saying Ed ‘raped’ me and that I don’t want to be ‘that girl.’ “

For his part, the 30-year-old English actor, who plays a Cuban gangster in the Crackle streaming-service crime drama “Snatch,” has responded with a brief statement via his Instagram page.

“I do not know this woman,” Mr. Westwick said Tuesday. “I have never forced myself in any manner, on any woman. I certainly have never committed rape.”
