LAWRENCE, Mass. (AP) - Police say they’re enforcing a curfew after one person was fatally shot and three others suffered non-fatal gunshot wounds in Lawrence overnight.

Authorities say three people were shot in a city park Monday night. They at first went to a Methuen hospital, but two were so seriously injured they were taken to Boston hospitals.

Police then responded to a car crash into a utility pole. The 26-year-old driver, who had been shot, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police Chief James Fitzpatrick says police don’t believe the two shootings are related, but believe the men were “specifically targeted.”

Police are encouraging community members to call authorities if they see any activity on public property after dark on Tuesday.

No names have been released. Authorities have not announced any arrests.
