LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Officials say a Little Rock city leader is recovering after a man jumped into her convertible on a city street, causing her to lose control of the vehicle and crash.

Police say the man was a suspect in an unrelated disturbance and jumped into the convertible belonging to Little Rock city director Doris Wright on Tuesday afternoon. Wright then lost control of her car and struck a pole, then the vehicle overturned.

Police say that Wright wasn’t targeted and that investigators believe the man took advantage of the fact that Wright was in a convertible.

A city spokesman tells the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that Wright wasn’t seriously injured. The man was injured in the crash and taken to a Little Rock hospital.
