DENVER (AP) - The Latest on a collision that killed a child in the Denver suburb of Thornton (all times local):

The Colorado State Patrol says troopers have spoken with a driver about the death of a 2-year-old boy who was struck by a vehicle in suburban Denver.

The patrol said on Twitter Tuesday that the driver had seen a report of the incident in the news is now cooperating with investigators. No other information about the driver has been released.

State Patrol Sgt. Rob Madden says the boy was hit at about 7:40 p.m. Monday in the north Denver suburb of Thornton. The boy was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Authorities initially said they were searching for a white sport-utility vehicle that witnesses reported had left the scene.

A child died in a hit-and-run north of Thornton and police are searching for a white sport utility vehicle witnesses reported seeing driving away from the scene.

Investigators did not initially release any more information about the suspect vehicle or driver.
