KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) - State wildlife officials are trying to find out who poached a mule deer near Kingman.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department says the doe was killed between Sept. 2 and Sept. 4, likely with archery equipment. The carcass was found in a wash near the Rancho Santa Fe subdivision.

Wildlife manager Cody Johnston says the department has evidence. But it’s looking to the public for more information.

He says the killing was not the act of a hunter.
