WEST CHESTER, Pa. (AP) - Police say they’re charging a 14-year-old black student with making online, racially charged threats to harm other students at a school in the Philadelphia suburbs.

West Goshen Township polices aren’t identifying the West Chester East High School student because he’ll be charged in juvenile court.

The threats posted on an Instagram page called “East Shade Room” and referred to black students using the n-word, called Hispanic students “dirty Mexicans” and white students “crackers.” Despite that, police say in their news release that the investigation “negated the hate crime aspects of the incident.”

The posts were made Friday but referred to violence that would be carried out Monday.

Police say the student will be charged with making terroristic threats, harassment and cyber harassment of a child.
