BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Just one day before her 26th birthday, a Louisiana mother of three became the state’s newest millionaire.

The Louisiana Lottery Corporation says Sarah Hebert (AY-bear), of Jennings, on Sept. 5 cashed in a $2 million Powerball ticket that was bought for the Aug. 23 drawing, which had a record-breaking $758.7 million jackpot.

Hebert received $1.4 million after state and federal taxes were withheld. She says she plans to invest some for her children and buy a house.

Hebert won playing her family’s birthdays. Her ticket matched all five white ball numbers, winning $1 million, but the prize doubled since Hebert added the $1 Power Play to her ticket.

Hebert bought the ticket at Tiger Mart in Lake Arthur, where she works. The store will get a one-time selling bonus of $20,000 -1 percent of the prize.
