A Prescott man has been found dead after his all-terrain vehicle flipped over and trapped him underneath it

PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - A Prescott man has been found dead after his all-terrain vehicle flipped over and trapped him underneath it.

Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials say it appears 64-year-old Douglas Hague had been dead for several days when his body was discovered Tuesday.

A man called the sheriff’s office dispatch to report finding a deceased person still trapped underneath an ATV on a forest road in the Groom Creek area.

County authorities say a preliminary investigation indicates Hague’s ATV struck a large boulder partially protruding into the roadway and that caused the crash.

Family members say it wasn’t unusual for Hague to ride the backroads alone in that area.

The cause of Hague’s death is pending autopsy results.
