BLACKWELL, Mo. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the deaths of a couple in southeast Missouri.
St. Francois County Sheriff Dan Bullock says the two victims were found dead Wednesday at a home in Blackwell.
The Park Hills Daily Journal reports deputies went to the home after receiving a call that the man hadn’t gone to work for more than a week and attempts to reach him and his wife were unsuccessful.
The bodies were found outside the home. Bullock says evidence indicated both had been killed but he didn’t elaborate.
The victims were 50-year-old John Lewis and his wife, 58-year-old Diana Lewis.
Bullock says investigators believe the couple was targeted and authorities are searching for a specific suspect.
