LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - Dona Ana County prosecutors say a man is being held without bond on two pending cases of battery against a member of his household.
They say 44-year-old Joe Azure was arrested Aug. 31 in Albuquerque on a warrant for attempted first-degree murder.
A judge on Thursday found that Azure had violated the conditions of his release on the two pending cases by failing to secure an attorney and leaving the county.
Azure was accused with battery against a household member on Feb. 23, then again on June 12.
The alleged victim is the same in both cases.
Police say Azure allegedly attacked the victim a third time on Aug. 27, sending her to the hospital with 27 facial fractures which subsequently put her into a coma.
