IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - One of two men charged in a deadly Iowa City pedestrian mall shooting has pleaded not guilty.

Twenty-one-year-old Donte Taylor entered pleas Tuesday to several charges, including trafficking in stolen weapons and control of a firearm by a felon. His trial is scheduled to begin Oct. 24.

Police say 22-year-old Kaleek Asham Douglas Jones, of Iowa City, died two days after the Aug. 27 shooting. The man police say killed Jones, Lamar Wilson, hasn’t entered his pleas. His next court date is Sept. 22.
