DENTON, Texas (AP) - Authorities say a woman was killed after her vehicle crashed into a school bus carrying a tennis team that was stopped at a red light in North Texas.

McKinney police say the woman was driving her vehicle at a high rate of speed when she crashed late Thursday night into the Denton Independent School District bus on U.S. Highway 380.

Police said one student was taken to the hospital with minor scrapes and bruises.

Denton school district spokesman Mario Zavala says the students on the bus were on Braswell High School’s tennis team and were returning from a match in McKinney. He says about 15 people were on the bus.

Officials said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was not immediately released.
