HUEYTOWN, Ala. (AP) - Hueytown Police Chief Chuck Hagler is retiring at the end of September.

Capt. Mickey Willis will be the interim chief until the mayor appoints someone to permanently fill the position.

Al.com reports Hagler began his law enforcement career at the Bessemer Police Department in 1990. He transferred to the Hueytown Police Department in 1991, where he’s been ever since.



The chief spent many years in the Multi Agency Drug Enforcement Team and as a detective before being sworn in as chief in 2007.

Hueytown is a suburb of Birmingham.
