BALTIMORE (AP) - Baltimore police say they have arrested an 18-year-old man in the slaying and rape of a homeless woman.

Police say the body of 35-year-old Jessica Gibson was found behind large pallets on a downtown Baltimore access road on Wednesday. Gibson was homeless, and had four children. Police say she had been sexually assaulted and strangled.

Police on Monday said James Arthur House has been charged with murder, rape, perverted practice, reckless endangerment and sex offense stemming from Gibson’s death. Police spokesman T.J. Smith said some of the sex acts House is charged with were committed after Gibson’s death.

House is being held without bail. Online court records don’t list a lawyer for him.
