INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Coroners have identified a college student who was struck and killed by a school bus on a downtown Indianapolis campus.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office said Tuesday that 18-year-old Fatima Hassuneh died of multiple blunt force injuries.

Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis says Hassuneh was crossing a street with the right of way Monday afternoon when the bus hit her as it turned left.

An Indianapolis Public Schools spokeswoman says the bus was operated by contractor Durham School Services. No students were aboard the bus at the time.

Police say the bus driver is cooperating with investigators.

Durham School Services General Manager Charles Brown said in a statement the company is “deeply saddened by the loss of this student’s life” and extends its “heartfelt sympathy to the family.”
