LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say a passenger jet flying from Dayton, Ohio, to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport was forced to make an emergency landing in Arkansas Monday evening because of mechanical problems.

American Airlines spokesman Matt Miller says Flight 5473 “landed without incident” at Clinton National Airport in Little Rock, where mechanics were evaluating whether the aircraft would be able to resume its journey. Miller did not have specific details on the source of the mechanical problems.

The Mesa Airlines-operated flight had 35 passengers, two pilots and two flight attendants on board.
