SEATTLE (AP) - Seattle authorities say a 66-year-old man is in custody after he shot at police during a standoff and police returned fire, striking him in the lower half of his body.

Officials say a standoff started at about 9:30 p.m. Friday after the man threatened a neighbor with a gun.

Police say the man at about 4:30 a.m. Saturday fired a shotgun and struck a SWAT armored vehicle, and a SWAT officer fired several rounds in return.

Police say the man went back into the residence but surrendered an hour later.

Officials say the man was treated at the scene and transported to Harborview Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening.

His name hasn’t been released.

No police officers were injured.
