SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A Utah school district worked with police to make sure a high school student’s concerning social media didn’t lead to any violence.

Park City School District spokeswoman Melinda Colton said parents late Tuesday night reported that their children had seen a Snapchat picture of a student putting a gun into his backpack with the message, “All will be better tomorrow.”

The district reported it to police, who went to the student’s house. They discovered the weapon was an airsoft gun and that there was no threat.

Colton says the school district asked the student to stay home Wednesday while officials determined if he should be suspended.

Park City Police Capt. Phil Kirk says his agency is investigating the incident and will forward their findings to prosecutors to determine if charges are warranted.
