CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. (AP) - No cause has been determined yet for the late night fire in New Jersey that engulfed a stretch of storefronts and led to the demolition of two burned out businesses the next day.

Cliffside Park construction crews were on hand Wednesday to demolish the two stores destroyed by the fire that engulfed them Tuesday night. The Record reports (https://njersy.co/2vO5CWN ) four firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation and a fifth was hospitalized after twisting a knee while battling the flames.

Borough spokesman Bill Maer says it took five hours for more the 100 firefighters to extinguish the blaze.

Residents say they were sorry to see the businesses get torn down, but they were thankful there weren’t more injuries in the fire.
