FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) - Fairbanks police say a man was shot and mortally wounded at a downtown motel.

Police at around 3 a.m. Friday took a call of gunfire at the Alaskan Motor Inn.

They found a man with a gunshot wound.



Emergency responders transported the man to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, where he died.

Police say they have leads in the case.

They’re calling for witnesses who may have been near the motel between 2 and 4 a.m. to contact them.
