BOTHELL, Wash. (AP) - Police in the western Washington city of Bothell have taken into custody a 22-year-old driver suspected of intentionally hitting two pedestrians in crosswalks and trying to hit three others.

Police say they arrested the man Friday evening, and that he told investigators he tried to hit as many people as possible.

Police say the two women hit by the vehicle were transported to a hospital.

The man’s name hasn’t been released.
