ST. LOUIS (AP) - A St. Louis man has been acquitted in a pregnant woman’s shooting death but convicted of illegally concealing a gun.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that a jury ruled Friday that 67-year-old David Harvey is not guilty of first-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of armed criminal action.

Police allege that Harvey shot India Blake in the head about three years ago. Blake was pregnant when she died. Officers found her body in a St. Louis alley.

Police found a revolver on Harvey when arresting him, but the gun didn’t match the bullet that killed Blake.

Police also accused Harvey of shooting at Blake’s friend, Archie Taylor. Harvey’s lawyer alleges it was Taylor who accidentally killed Blake.

Harvey didn’t testify in the trial.
