PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Portland Fire and Rescue say a man died after a duplex caught fire in Southeast Portland.

KOIN reports the Monday night blaze happened at a duplex around 9 p.m. Authorities said the fire was under control within 10 minutes. A neighbor had started firefighting efforts with a garden hose before crews arrived. Another neighbor tried to rescue the man.

No cause has been determined yet.
