JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) - No serious damage was done when an oversize load being hauled by a semitrailer got lodged under an Interstate 94 overpass in Stutsman County.

The Highway Patrol says the driver was hauling an air-cooled heat exchanger from Oklahoma to Alberta on Thursday when the incident happened. The driver noticed the low overpass and slowed to 15 mph but still tried to make it through.

The load became lodged under the overpass and had to be pulled out by a tow truck. One lane of the interstate and an exit were shut down for about an hour while the overpass was inspected.

The patrol says the driver didn’t follow the designated route and was cited for violating conditions of a permit.
