HOLYOKE, Mass. (AP) - Police in Holyoke say two people were taken to the hospital and two others were arrested after late-night shooting in the city.

Lt. Jim Albert tells WWLP-TV that officers were called to a Walnut Street apartment building at about 10 p.m. Wednesday for reports of a shooting. Two men were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds, including one who was in serious condition. Their names were not released.

Albert says police searched the building and found a significant amount of cocaine, heroin, and ammunition.

Police also arrested 22-year-old Wilmur Alvarez-Vargas and 31-year-old Eduardo Fernandez on drug and weapons charges.
