SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A former Utah nanny has been arrested on multiple charges accusing her of sexually abusing a young boy who was in her care for 10 years in Salt Lake City.

The Salt Lake County district attorney filed the charges Wednesday against 68-year-old Alavina Florreich of Glendale, Arizona.

She faces five felony counts of aggravated sexual abuse dating to 1999 and two felony counts of forcible sex abuse dating to 2005.

Charging documents say the victim, who now is 26, was allegedly abused by Florreich beginning in 1999 when he was 7 years old.

Court records don’t indicate whether Florreich has an attorney or will be appointed one.

She’s scheduled to make her initial appearance in Third District Court on May 9 before Judge Vernice Trease.
