HIGHLANDS, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey authorities have issued an arrest warrant for the man they say left a pit bull puppy to drown in a cage. The dog was later rescued.
The Monmouth County prosecutor’s office announced on its Facebook page Friday that an arrest warrant has been issued for 36-year-old Aaron D. Davis of Long Branch. Police did not say whether Davis was the owner of the dog or what charges he faces.
A woman walking on the beach in Highlands, New Jersey early Monday spotted the gray-and-white puppy cowering in a cage as the tide came in. Jennifer Vaz rescued the dog, since renamed “River,” and says she plans to adopt him.
