RENO, Nev. (AP) - Police say a body found this week south of Reno has been identified as the 19-year-old Nevada woman who went missing in September.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Tuesday the identity of the body as Madeline Lingenfelter.

Authorities say her body was found near the Tannenbaum Event Center, south of Sunridge Drive off the Mount Rose Highway.

Reno police say her death is not considered suspicious.

Authorities had launched an extensive search for the Reno woman after her car was found near the event center on Sept. 21.

Washoe County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Bob Harmon says the body was found inside the search area, a location with harsh terrain and thick woods.
