HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say the death of a bartender in South Carolina who had fallen down a set of stairs is being investigated after they previously said it appeared to be an accident.
Beaufort County Sheriff’s Capt. Bob Bromage tells The Island Packet the death of 46-year-old Brian Turano is under review. The bartender at FISH Casual Coastal Seafood in the Coligny area of Hilton Head Island was found unconscious roughly 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers) from the restaurant Saturday morning.
County deputy coroner David Ott says the man died at a hospital from a traumatic brain injury Tuesday afternoon. His death was not being investigated Wednesday afternoon.

Bromage said Thursday morning that the sheriff’s office is conducting interviews. There are no cameras in the area where Turano was found.
