PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say Phoenix firefighters found a body inside a vacant building that was on fire.

Phoenix fire officials say the blaze occurred late Sunday night near 24th Street and Washington inside a property that used to be a bank.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before it spread to the entire building.

However, during a sweep, they discovered one person dead.

An investigation is under way as to how the fire started and what caused the person’s death.

No firefighters were injured.
