SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Authorities say three snowmobile riders were able to get themselves out of a lake in rural Utah after their two snowmobiles went through thin ice.

KUTV-TV reports the incident occurred Saturday at Strawberry Reservoir, about 57 miles (91 kilometers) southeast of Salt Lake City.

One person was on one snowmobile while another man and his wife were on the other.

After getting out of the lake, they called for help and were treated by Wasatch County Search and Rescue.

The snowmobiles remained in the lake.
