PITTSBURGH (AP) - A man has been ordered to stand trial in the murder of an elderly Pittsburgh-area motel owner.

An Allegheny Court judge on Friday held 61-year-old Derrick Gallaway in the death of 78-year-old Dehnad Taiedi. Prosecutors said the victim was shot to death in May 2016 as he worked behind the front desk of the Jefferson Hills Motel.

Authorities allege that the defendant was renting a room to deal methamphetamines. They say blood found on a wall matched his DNA. Gallaway was charged in August 2016 and arrested by U.S. marshals in November at a hospital in Sacramento, California.
