JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) - A skier has been killed after triggering an avalanche just outside the boundary of Wyoming’s Jackson Hole ski resort.

The Jackson Hole News reports that the 30-year-old male victim was killed Saturday morning in an area known as Rock Springs that’s south of the ski area.

The victim was with another skier who was not injured. The identity of the victim was not immediately released by Teton County authorities.

The Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center issued an advisory Saturday morning warning of a considerable avalanche hazard at upper elevations in the area.

A winter storm warning was in effect through Sunday evening.
