CROWN POINT, Ind. (AP) - A judge has sentenced a northwestern Indiana man to 130 years in prison for the bludgeoning and strangulation deaths of his parents.

Thomas Snow learned his sentence Friday after being convicted in November of the murders of 66-year-old Joyce Snow and 68-year-old Clifford Snow of Lowell. The bodies wrapped in tarps and carpets were found in October 2013. Authorities believe the couple was killed the previous month. Thomas Snow fled from Indiana and was arrested in Minnesota after detectives tracked his parents’ credit card and cellphone records.

The (Northwest Indiana) Times reports Snow’s sister, Julie Niemeyer, said her brother was “selfish” and held “contempt for human life.”
