POMONA, Calif. (AP) - A Southern California mother says she took her 14-month-old son out of his room just minutes before a car slammed through the wall, crushing the boy’s crib.

KABC-TV aired surveillance video of the car crashing into the home in Pomona Saturday night. The driver and a passenger escaped serious injuries and nobody inside the house was hurt.

Marie Stubblefield tells the news station she heard screeching and then felt what she thought was an earthquake when the car smashed through the wall.

She and her husband, Alex, say it was luck that nobody was in their son Ace’s room, which was destroyed.

Police are investigating whether the driver was street racing prior to the crash.
