NY police officer shoots himself, in stable condition

NEW YORK (AP) - A New York City off-duty police officer shot himself and is in stable condition.

A police spokeswoman says the officer is in stable condition at Queens’ Elmhurst Hospital after the shooting Saturday at about 11 a.m.

No other details were immediately available.
