GAUTIER, Miss. (AP) - Police say a Mississippi Gulf Coast woman shot dead on Monday went to an apartment with others to assault someone.
No one has been charged in the death of 27-year-old Taleya Guy in Gautier (goh-SHAY’). Authorities won’t say why no one faces charges or if Guy was shot in self-defense.
WLOX-TV reports police filed conspiracy to commit aggravated assault charges against four other women. Those charges state Guy and the others went to College Villa Apartments with a handgun, intending to harm a sixth woman.
Jasmine Anderson, 26; Phyllis Williams, 29; Lamonica Boone, 23; and Tinisha Massey, 23, are all charged with conspiracy, but not with killing Guy. Bail was set at $25,000 apiece. All but Massey have posted bail. It’s unclear if any of them has a lawyer.
