FARGO, N.D. (AP) - A Fargo woman has been sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison in the death of a man who fell from the hood of the vehicle she was driving.

Police say 33-year-old Joshua Fonder fell from the vehicle driven by 28-year-old Alicia Johnson last May, and died a week later from a head injury.

Johnson reached a deal with prosecutors in which she pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and leaving the scene of an accident involving death, and prosecutors dropped a manslaughter charge.

Court documents show she was sentenced Monday, and given credit for six months already served behind bars. She’ll be on probation for two years following her prison time. She also was ordered to pay about $1,000 in restitution.
