LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say a Las Vegas corrections officer who died while on duty at the city jail earlier this month had been in a fight with an inmate shortly before he was found unconscious.
Kyle Eng was taken to a hospital on July 19 but couldn’t be revived.
The 51-year-old Eng had been with the city’s Department of Public Safety since January.
A memorial service was held Monday for Eng with friends, family and the law enforcement community paying their respects.
No other details on Eng’s death have been made available.
An exact cause and manner of death have yet to be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
