At long last, Alex Ovechkin returned to his home country of Russia — with the Stanley Cup in hand.
The Capitals captain spent the weekend celebrating, making public appearances with the trophy. On Sunday, Ovechkin visited the Red Square in Moscow.

Ovechkin also made stops to the World Cup Fan Zone and the Novogorsk Dynamo Hockey School, his hometown rink.
His father, Mikhail, touched the Cup for the first time.
