MARGATE, Fla. (AP) - A man has been taken to a hospital after being struck by lightning in Florida.

Margate-Coconut Creek Fire Rescue Chief Dan Booker tells the SunSentinel the man was struck just before noon Monday outside a condominium complex.

Booker said the man was in serious condition when crews took him to the hospital.



His name hasn’t been released.

A series of rain storms began moving across much of South Florida on Monday morning.
