BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Bismarck police say a man injured in a late-night shooting has died.

Officers who responded to reports of shots fired about 9:30 p.m. Thursday found a 35-year-old man who had been shot in the chest at an apartment. Derrick Lefthand was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Officers early Friday arrested a 35-year-old man on a weapons count. He wasn’t immediately charged in the shooting.

Police say a money dispute sparked the alleged incident, and the potential suspect told officers he fired to defend himself.
