A member of Britain’s Special Air Service stepped up to the plate during a joint operation when Afghan commandos refused to enter a cave complex occupied by Taliban forces.

A Glock 9mm pistol, a claw hammer, raw courage and a lot of skill allowed a British special operations warfighter to kill six Taliban in the tunnel system. The team’s objective was to destroy a terrorist base and take out a high-value target.

“There wasn’t enough room to use a long-barreled weapons so the Brit used his Glock 9-mm pistol and grabbed a claw hammer,” a source told the U.K. Daily Star on Sunday. “He couldn’t see the Taliban, but he could hear and smell them. He shot three of them dead, one after the other, but then his pistol jammed.”

The 29-year-old sergeant killed the first three terrorists with his pistol before it malfunctioned in the cave system — roughly 2 feet wide and 4 feet high.

Details of the operation are reminiscent of 2016 heroics in which a SAS member killed ISIS terrorists in Syria with an ax before saving sex slaves.
