ST. LOUIS (AP) - A St. Louis woman whose car was totaled when a fleeing driver crashed into it has new wheels.

KSDK-TV reports that a St. Louis car dealership surprised Ashley Moore with a new car on Saturday. She was left without a car after a driver fled from police in Brooklyn, Illinois, and then drove across the state line into St. Louis. The chase ended with the suspect crashing into several cars, including Moore‘s.

Moore said she had insurance, but it wasn’t full coverage so her insurance company wouldn’t cover the damage to her Honda Civic. Moore said she is still stuck paying the bill on her old car but is happy the community stepped up to help her out in a time of need. She says she’s “ecstatic.”
