CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire man has been charged with using his book bag to hit a service dog and then pulling a knife on the dog’s owner.

Police say 27-year-old Christopher Paquette, of Concord, has been charged with criminal threatening, drug possession and cruelty to animals.

Police say Paquette approached a man waiting for a cab Tuesday and told him he needed a ride. The man said Paquette could take his cab.

The cab driver said he could only take the person who had ordered the ride and Paquette became agitated.

Police say Paquette then hit the man’s service dog with the bag and threatened to stab the man. Police say no one was hurt.

Paquette was arraigned Wednesday and was set to get a public defender.
