THREE POINTS, Ariz. (AP) - Animal control officers and sheriff’s deputies say they have removed more than 100 animals from a property in Pima County in southern Arizona.

Around 40 dogs, 50 chickens or roosters, 10 potbelly pigs, a ferret and snake were on the property.

Animal Protection Service officers were on scene Thursday assisting the Pima County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies called the center after performing a welfare check at the property.

Deputies are investigating but no other details were released about the circumstances at the property.

County officials said the property owners agreed to surrender most of the animals, which means the dogs will be available for adoption or foster. The farm animals will be sent to groups that handle livestock.
