On the strength of Vegas forward Reilly Smith’s power play goal, the Golden Knights took a 3-2 lead into the second intermission of Thursday’s Game 5.
The Capitals scored first, but Vegas answered quickly each time. An Alex Ovechkin penalty helped put the Golden Knights ahead.
