MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) - A former police officer in southern Oregon has been found not guilty of domestic violence.
Nathan Staller was charged with misdemeanor assault and harassment last fall after his wife Tonya told police an argument became violent. He resigned from his Rogue River police job in November.
The Mail Tribune reports jurors had little physical evidence on which to decide the case, other than photographs of red marks on Tonya Staller’s arms that she testified darkened into bruises in the days after the confrontation.

The argument came two days after the officer told his wife by phone that he had a girlfriend.
The six-member jury quickly found Staller not guilty.
The Stallers declined comment after Thursday’s verdict.
